After months of preparation and packing the weekend had
finally come around. Before we knew it we were all travelling down to London to
take place in the bi-annual trade show, Pure. We showcased our unreleased AW14
Collection at Olympia London. Pure is always a highlight for Ruby+Ed, as we're
a small brand it is a great opportunity to meet up with existing clients and
potential buyers.
Year after year our collection grows bigger and new styles
are introduced to the Ruby+Ed family. Our Trade Manager, Jenna found herself
doing lots of research on what we could use to display our gorgeous fur trimmed
gloves and mittens. After weeks of considering display options, our designer
came up with the genius idea of creating our own glove stands. We bought marigold gloves, plaster of paris and lots of old newspapers and got to work
straight away. We cut holes in an empty box, slotted our gloves in and poured
the plaster in to set. Whilst the hands were left to dry, we then decided to
brush up on our papier mâché skills, starting with Polystyrene heads, the
Ruby+Ed sign and finally the hands too.
Following weeks of pre-production and planning of the show,
we were thrilled to see the stand come to life. Our slipper collection was
positioned to the left of our stand, displayed on their own wall of crates,
they caught the attention of a lot of people at the show. Our brand new faux
fur collection was very popular this year, most people couldn’t keep their
hands off of our furry accessories!
We recieved some great feedback and we cannot wait for
September to come around again!
