BEHIND THE SCENES: SS13 SHOOT IN RONDA, SPAIN

Counting down the days to the launch of our SS13 collection we wanted to give you a snippet of what’s to come. To shoot the SS13 catalogue the Ruby+Ed Creative Team headed to Ronda, a majestic town in Andalucía, to catch the last of the summer sun. Driving into the mountains we arrived at our destination late in the night after a delayed flight to Malaga. We went straight to sleep to be ready for the morning. Upon rising we were met with a beautiful Moorish Villa with exotic fountains and archways leading to lush gardens - perfect for shooting the silk dresses and Oriental style nightwear, a big trend for SS13. Day 2 we headed to the town of Ronda and to its impressive bridge with a breathtakingly 390ft drop to the canyon floor. This was the perfect backdrop for shooting the capsule collection of parkas (which can be viewed here) and sporty canvas pumps, new for Spring/Summer. We stopped at a traditional Spanish tapas bar for lunch to try the local delicacies, helping us fuel up for the rest of the day. Later on, shooting the cotton silk Iyla Dress in a deserted courtyard we heard horse steps coming round the corner and were met by a traditional ‘rejoneador’ (a bullfighter on horseback). It seemed to be a magical moment being swept back in time, and beautifully captured the mood of the shoot.

CAMILLE OVER THE RAINBOW FEATURE

Camille Charriere (above) is the half British half French star of the blog 'Camille over the rainbow', featured many a time in style websites such as Vogue UK, Style Rain Tumblr, and Stockholm Streetstyle. Here at Ruby+Ed HQ we are huge fans of her unique style, so you can imagine how excited we were when she snapped herself (on several occasions) wearing our Hooded coat in Jet.

Pictured above you can see Camille wearing our faux fur coat with a pair of distressed skinny jean and a Breton striped top.

HARRY AND IZZY JUDD CELEBRATE THEIR WEDDING IN RUBY+ED’S

Harry Judd (Mcfly drummer and Strictly winner 2011) and his wife Izzy were recently wed in a beautiful Christmas ceremony in Hertfordshire. 

For the bridal preparations Izzy requested pairs of our ballerina slippers for all the bridesmaids to wear before slipping into their gowns. She kindly sent us the exclusive photos taken for Hello! Magazine by photographer Sven Arnstein. 

All the bridesmaids point their toes like real ballerina dancers wearing the Cerise, Chalk Pink and Ice snuggle slippers. We’re glad to see our ballerinas are not just cosy but also rather glamorous!
